Our Story
Purposeful Play Pediatric Therapy, LLC was established in 2021 by Kelly Kinne, M.S OTR/L with the goal to provide quality private pediatric therapy to Venice, Florida and surrounding communities. She saw the challenges that children were having in qualifying for appropriate services in school-based and early intervention settings and the restrictions on the types of services and diagnosis approved by a third party when billing insurances. Purposeful Play strives to think outside the box when evaluating and treating a child, focusing on the child's STRENGTHS to help address their areas of need. We encourage family and caregiver involvement and carryover to maximize the child's success in all settings and help them reach their full potential. Our Therapists are always available to consult with families during each session to ensure you as a parent feel EMPOWERED to help your child across all settings.
Our Beliefs
We believe that every child is unique and deserves to be seen. We do not believe in a "one size fits all" approach to working with children. When we evaluate your child, we do not simply look for their deficits and what they can NOT do; We also find what their strengths and interests are. This allows us to use those strengths and interests that are specific to your child in developing treatment sessions and engage them in their therapy in a fun, successful, meaningful and PURPOSEFUL way.
